Scrabble and Domino necklaces

Hi friends! I thought I would try something different again. I took an on-line Altered Domino class taught by Zinnia Galliher @ Roses On My Table. Her teaching is very clear and easy to understand. Once I got started I couldn't stop! :)

I made some with the burgundy colored scrabble tiles and then some with the natural wood. I can't make up my mind which I like best.
I love birds can you tell? Double click to see the birdies up close. All the images are from an Etsy shop called Charmed Memory Collage. She has wonderful images, for dominoes, scrabble pieces, perfume labels, postcards, tags, all kinds of assorted sizes.

This is a domino with a wonderful Waterhouse image. I haven't glued the bail onto it yet but I wanted to show you.

This is the first one that I did and you can tell? :[ I thought I would show you anyway.

Does it make you want to try it? It's a lot of fun, my friends. Now you know what I'm going to do with all of those dominoes that I bought at that garage sale. I have a lot of scrabble pieces too. Don't be afraid to try it. It's a lot easier than soldering, I'll tell you that!

What did you do this weekend? I wanted to go garage saling but didn't do it. Maybe next weekend. I would like to go to the Picadilly again. Whatever you did or are going to do, I hope you enjoyed it. I would love to hear about it. I'm not being nosey...really.

Talk to you soon.

Love,

Sonya

Celebrating Pink Saturday's 3rd Birthday!

Hello dear friends! I hope you will join the celebration of Pink Saturday's 3rd birthday. Of course, Beverly from How Sweet the Sound is the hostess! Thank you, Beverly! I can't believe it's been 3 years! I have met so many sweet and talented bloggers through this wonderful event.

I just finished this collage, just in the nic of time. I love this image and I love the hymn, "I Come to the Garden Alone".

I think of this hymn often when I'm out in the garden alone. But you know...I'm not really alone.

I love this rose. If you double click-you can really see the sparklies on it.

Could this be the lock and key for where my Lord resides? ;)

I found this piece of wood down by the river and I tied it with a piece of raffia to a rusty washer.

I do hope you will join this special Pink Saturday with all the ladies. Please go visit Beverly if you haven't yet and thank her too.

I hope you all enjoy your Memorial Weekend too. Thank you for stopping by my friends.

Blessings,

Sonya

A Purr-fect Friend and Learning to Fish

Hello dear friends! I hope all is well with you and you aren't having trouble like I am! I have been visiting other blogs and want to leave a comment and blogger won't let me. Ugghhh (eyes rolling)!
I finally finished one of my collages that has been laying on my work table for the last month. Double click on any photos and you can see the details better.
I just love this picture of this little girl feeding her kitty.

The purr-fect friend. My kitties are, that's for sure.

Isn't she sweet? The little girl must think the kitty is pretty hungry!

I thought this little kitty bowl would be a cute addition to the collage.
Of course, I coffee stained everything. I like the little ribbon with the paw prints, the word purrr and meow, the kitty face and mouse with a little buckle.

My daughter bought Deacon a fishing pole and was trying to teach him how to fish. He was pretty excited about it but lost interest soon because he had no bites. Maybe next time.

It was kind of cloudy but at least it was warm.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments. What are you doing Memorial weekend? Anything fun?

Big hugs to you,

Sonya

More Garage Sale Finds Part II

Hello friends, I'm back with part II of my garage sale finds from last Friday. And remember everything I posted last post plus THIS post cost me just $7! :)
A few watches that I will alter. A little baggie full of colorful little clothespins.

A pocket watch that will be fun to use and a dog tag...

Two glue guns with 2 baggies full of glue sticks. I gave one to Nikki. I CAN share!

Double click on the photo. Can you see the date on this marriage certificate? Yes, it says 1894! Isn't that something?
I was short on buttons! Lol. I couldn't resist. Believe it or not, I didn't take them all!
The kitty buttons are so cute!

Maybe if you double click on this photo of these brown pearl buttons you can see why I love them.

These are pretty pearly pink buttons...

I thought this certificate was really pretty.

Wonderful scripture on this page...

The last page...

This was the date which this paper was printed on.

My favorite is this one! It is totally all handwritten. Look at the date! I had a hard time reading some of his handwriting.

Inside page. What do you think? I wish I could talk to these people. Don't you? I wonder what their lives were like? Were they happy? Were they married a long time? Did they have a lot of children?

Here is another one...

Beautiful words with the marriage certificate...

Beautiful, don't you think?

I had to bring home one practical thing! I left my other clock in the motel when I went to Hawaii!

For making some really cute cookies!

And last but not least, an electric wok! I love stir fry. Do you?

Well, that's it kids! I got quite a bit for 7 bucks, huh? Now, I need to find room in my craft room for all of this stuff. Well, not the clock and wok, but the other stuff.

How was your Monday? Please pray for the poor victims and their families in Joplin, Missouri! It is just awful to see this happen again!

Blessings to you my friends,

Love,

Sonya

More Garage Sale Finds

My husband and I went to a bunch of garage sales last Friday. One of the last ones we went to was a house that belonged to a hoarder! It.was.amazing! The niece of the guy told me that I should have been there in the morning. She said all you could do was walk through the house as if you're walking on a path, with boxes stacked clear to the ceiling on both side of the path. Stacks and stacks clear to every wall! And the house smelled! YUCK! The guy had 5 refrigerators FULL of food! The niece had to donate all the food or it would have went bad. Needless to say, we found some really great deals. I am only going to show you part of it this time and then the rest on the next post. I can only imagine what we probably missed earlier that day. It's okay though, I came home with more than plenty.

I found this picture of the butterflies absolutely covered in dirt and grime. It cleaned up just fine. And even better? It was only 50 cents! I love the curved glass, don't you?
This box with the three drawers will be painted and used in my craft room.

Cute vellum envelopes for collages...

Cute leather labels...

I love these cute red corrugated hearts with music note background and other embellishments.

I needed this weekly schedule tablet...

A great altoid tin that will be altered. Yeah, I'll just add that to my list...

I really like the cover of this "Black Beauty" book. I think it will work great for maybe a western themed collage...

One of the pictures inside the book..

A whisk broom and a heavy duty old stapler.

A rusty old horseshoe and a rusty old lock.

A bunch of vintage Christmas balls...

I just love Peter Rabbit! Anything Beatrix Potter really. I have a little collection of the Peter Rabbit figurines, I will show you some day. I keep thinking I need to get rid of these, but I always change my mind. Sort of like my doll collection. Why can't I part with them? Is there a psychologist in the house? ;) Really, I bought this movie for my grandson.

A yellow-ochre leather coin purse-great for nests!

A little washboard with a glass front. I thought the top part of the washboard would look cute covered with vintage wallpaper, don't you?

A bag full of dominoes that will make great altered jewelry. That's something else I've been working on and will share with you shortly. :)

I don't know why, but I wanted this spray nozzle. It's so cute and stubby! ;P

Well, that's it for now, my friends. Please come back and see the next post of goodies! And are you sitting down? I bought ALL of this and the next group of goodies on my following post for $7!! YES! You read it right! SEVEN DOLLARS! Isn't that fabulous?!

Also, on a serious note...remember my last post of the Fruit of the Spirit picture that I made for my friend, Debbies's SIL and BIL? Well, he passed away today at noon. Please if you have a chance...pray for his family. He is in heaven rejoicing with Debbie's husband now. They both died of lung cancer. Debbie's husband passed last year at the age of only 47 and now his brother a year later died at 50. Both of them were very Godly men and if you knew them, you would have loved them.

Thank you for stopping by dear friends. I hope you all have a blessed coming week. Don't forget to come back for partII!

Love,

Sonya
